A huge part of my New Year’s resolutions (yes, I make them…deal with it) was to blog more and blog HERE instead of just on my work blog. I miss personal blogging, I miss posting photos of my friends and family…so I’m starting this off tonight. I’m spending the pre-wedding season trying to catch up on photos I took in 2011 that never left their RAW format, so expect some old photos to get posted in the next couple of weeks while I clear out the backlog! And there’s A LOT OF THEM.

In the meantime, here’s a photo of Kate as-yet-unpublished from the annual/autumnal Hideout New England meet up…more to come!

A new (but temporary) site is in the works, so please forgive broken links and stock images floating around. This will not be the final site, but I needed to change something before it drove me crazy, and I can’t start on the site I really want just yet.

Tomorrow I will start working on the new portfolio! Wish me luck!

UPDATE: All the images are probably going to change and get moved around but I’ve got a quick wedding portfolio up and started on my main portfolio. I think I’ve got all the slider images working ok. More to come later…I’ve gotta get back to edits!

My next installation in my lighting series is up at the Hideout Magazine. If you haven’t checked out this new e-zine, now is the time! There’s a ton of talent behind the scenes at the Hideout and I’m so excited to be a part of it!

I’ve done a lot of thinking about how to handle my business name when I take back my maiden name this year. I’m only on the second year of this formal journey, so the pressure to pick something that will really last is pretty intense.

My plan was to simply switch to Pamela Garnett photography but I was hesitant because of the future plans and collaborations I have with other photographers. I have been wanting to pick a “studio name” rather than my name for a while but came up empty handed on ideas. Until the other day.

I’ve chosen Lucid Light. It’s catchy, it’s topical, and it fits the way photography makes me feel. The world makes sense when I can put it into a frame, completely lucid and comforting. I love it, so I’m taking the plunge.

Along with the business name will come a website overhaul, new url (but the old one will still work) new promotional material, logo and I’ll be working on becoming an LLC and getting insured.

It’s really great to finally know what you want to be when you grow up. If I can pass as a grown up. :)
